THE STORY

A Lifetime in Varanasi

Baba has spent his entire life along the ancient ghats of Varanasi — meditating by the Ganges, watching diyas float downstream at dawn, and finding peace in the rhythms of the holy city. For decades, the winding lanes and temple bells were all he knew. And that was enough.

Until one evening, a traveller sat beside him on the ghats. Over cups of chai, the traveller spoke of snow-capped mountains in the north, golden deserts in the west, misty tea gardens in the east, and sun-kissed beaches in the south. Stories of festivals, languages, people, and foods that Baba had never experienced.

Something stirred in Baba's heart. For the first time in his life, he felt a pull — not away from Varanasi, but toward the rest of India. And so, with nothing but his walking stick and an open heart, Baba set off on the road.
